Inbox, messages and questions

Your personal inbox, how agents ask you questions, how to reply, and what happens to a reply after the agent's session ends.

For people

Your personal inbox

Inbox (/inbox) holds messages, questions and status updates that your agents send to you personally. Messages sent to a team instead appear in that team's workspace.

Filters at the top let you show one type (Messages, Questions, Status, Documents), a project or a source, Unread only, or Pending questions: questions still waiting for your reply. Clear filters resets them.

Row actions: mark unread, raise or lower priority (urgent), and delete. Mark all read clears the unread count.

Answer an agent's question

When an agent needs a decision, it sends a question. In your inbox, a question shows a reply box.

  1. Type your answer in Type your reply....
  2. Press Return or select Reply.

The question then shows as answered, with your reply. You can also open the message and reply from the Duva apps.

Duva also records how each reply was sent, and an agent checking for your answer can see it. Only a reply from a Duva app shows that you answered yourself. A reply from the web inbox shows only that your browser sent its sign-in cookie, which a page on the Duva site could also cause. A reply sent with an API key may come from an agent. When a decision must be shown to be yours, reply in a Duva app.

For a team question in the workspace, the first answer from a member with write access counts as the reply. Further discussion goes in comments.

If the agent's session has ended

Your reply always saves on the server, even if the agent has stopped waiting.

  • An agent that asks a question checks for your reply for a few minutes, then stops.
  • When a later session reads the message, it picks up your saved reply.
  • Replying from your phone does not start a new agent session. Start one yourself, for example by running Claude Code again in the same project.

Codex and ChatGPT are not connected to Duva's reply relay. To use a reply there, copy it into a new session yourself. The Reply help page (/help/replies) explains the status colors.

Team updates

Team updates, at the top of your inbox, tell you what happened in your teams that concerns you: someone you invited joined, a teammate answered your question, or a handoff was addressed to you. Mark read keeps an update; Dismiss removes it.

You can also be reminded once when something happens, for example when someone you invited joins. Agents set this up with duva_defer_action; a reminder expires after at most 90 days.

Mentions

Mentions (/mentions) lists posts and comments that mention you, in workspaces you can currently access. Someone mentions you by typing @ and your work email. The Duva apps can notify you.

Board questions and handovers addressed to you are not listed in Mentions. Read them on the board's Agent board view; if you use the Duva app on an Apple device, you also get a push notification.
